One Million Fundraising Campaign For Africa

The One Million Fundraising Campaign for Africa is a Fundraising Campaign pioneered by Travel Agape LLC, USA and Africa Agape Safari Cookbook. This Fundraising Campaign is a response towards the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Tourism sector and African economies. We aim to prevent the spread of the pandemic, save safari jobs, create more sustainability of projects in communities, and encourage wildlife and nature conservation in Africa.

This is in light of The World Bank’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for 2030. To eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development worldwide. This includes take climate action, reduce unemployment, strengthen gender equality and promote peaceful societies to name a few- if the world is to eradicate poverty and shift into a more sustainable development. As we all know that Africa is a continent which is suffering from a lot of challenges -poverty, hunger, unemployment and other challenges.

According to the World Bank, the International Poverty Line refers to those who have less than 1.25 US dollars a day to live, and thus live on the very edge of existence. Many people who had barely escaped extreme poverty could be forced back into it by the convergence of COVID-19 and climate change. New research estimates that climate change will drive 68 million to 132 million into poverty by 2030. Climate change is a particularly acute threat for countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. The newest and most immediate threat to poverty reduction, COVID-19, has unleashed a worldwide economic disaster whose shock waves continue to spread. Without an adequate global response, the cumulative effects of the pandemic and its economic fallout and climate change will exact high human and economic costs well into the future.
