It is possible to take a private helicopter trip and fly over Victoria Falls, giving breathtaking views of one of the largest waterfalls in the world. A number of luxury lodges are set beside the mighty Zambezi River offering the choice of game drives, walks and canoeing. Zambia has interesting national parks, Zambezi National Park, Kafue National Park and South Luangwa National Park contain some of Africa’s best and the largest concentration of wildlife.

Zambia safari

If it is your first time on safari we recommend Zambia. It’s reputation as a top destination was set in the 1980’s by the likes of conservationists – Norman Carr, Phil Berry and Robin Pope who ran early walking safaris in the remote Luangwa Valley which we recommend.

This has given birth to a strong pool of Professional Guides who operate from small bush camps where you will find a high standards of hosting, abundant game and high value camps and lodges. Zambia offers Africa’s best traditional walking safaris with top guides, great wildlife and exceptional value.

Whilst best known for its magnificent packs of painted African wild dog and excellent sightings of leopard, Zambia is also home to the rare shoebill stork and the endemic black lechwe.

The Kafue National Park and Lower Zambezi make up the rest of the mainstream spots in the country. If you are visiting Livingstone near Victoria Falls you can hop on to a helicopter scenic flight over the magnificent Victoria Falls.

Zambia is packed with secret places which are worth visiting-the Liuwa Plains, Kasanka or Bangweulu swamps.
